Aluma™ Skin Renewal System

The Aluma™ Skin Renewal System is a revolutionary treatment for wrinkles, fine lines and skin laxity, just recently approved by the FDA. Aluma’s unique FACES™ [Functional Aspiration Controlled Electrothermal Stimulation] technology is predictably effective for achieving a “non-surgical facelift” without the downtime and pain associated with previous technology.

The Aluma device combines radio frequency energy with a vacuum apparatus to allow superficial as well as deep dermal heating for effective treatment with a low risk of adverse side effects to cause skin tightening and wrinkle reduction. A treatment typically takes only 15 minutes and patients can immediate return to their daily activities. In a safety and efficacy study of 46 patients treated around the eyes and mouth “everyone achieved at least a 50 percent improvement,” “Patient satisfaction was high, with over 90 percent of the patients satisfied.”

What are the benefits of Aluma™ treatment?

  • Virtually painless
  • Minimal risk
  • No downtime; return to normal activities immediately
  • Reduces fine lines and wrinkles
  • Tightens the skin
  • Improves aged and sun damaged skin
  • Stimulates new collagen growth within the dermis

Who can be treated?
Aluma™ energy is not affected by skin tone, hair color or any other characteristic. Anyone wanting to treat mild-to-moderate wrinkles and achieve smoother skin can be treated.

What can you expect?
Aluma™ treatment is comfortable. Energy is deposited deep into the skin without affecting the skin’s surface and virtually without pain. Skin is gently drawn into the tip of the handpiece with a vacuum process. Energy is delivered resulting in a gentle warming of the deeper layers of the skin. A treatment typically takes only 15 minutes, and you can return to normal activities immediately.

A series of treatments are recommended for best results. Fine lines are reduces and skin is tightened as new collagen is deposited in the dermis. Although some improvement with be seen within a month to a few months, the skin should continue to improve for several months after treatment as new collagen is generated.

What is the difference between Aluma™ and Thermage®?
Thermage® was the first radiofrequency device brought to the market and will cause skin tightening in some individuals. The procedure is time consuming and painful, and has been associated with undesirable “fat” atrophy in some individuals. Aluma™ is different; it works over time to produce similar results. The treatments are fast and most importantly, painless. Adverse effects, as well, are virtually non-existent.
