What is Dermaplaning?
Dermaplaning is a non-invasive skin resurfacing procedure that uses a special surgical blade to gently scrape away the top layer of dead epidermal cells.
Who should consider Dermaplaning?
Dermaplaning is ideal for anyone interested in:
- removal of vellous facial hair (peach fuzz) which can trap excess dirt and oil
- an alternative hair removal technique
- an alternative to Microdermabrasion, which is not recommended for clients who have visible broken capillaries
What should I expect during and after treatment?
Dermaplaning is a virtually painless procedure. You may feel a mild scratching during the treatment, and may appear to have a mild sunburn afterwards. Aftercare is simple and easy, requiring only gentle cleansing and a good sunscreen.
Dermaplaning is best if done in a series, and can safely be done every four weeks. For a more aggressive treatment, dermaplaning can be followed by an acid peel.
